Plain Aash (Vegetarian Basic Soup)

Ingredients (servings 4-6):
  • One can Sadaf Sabzi Aash (2 oz) 
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/2 cup yellow split peas
  • 14 cups water or Meat Stock
  • Salt  and Pepper  to taste
Direction: Empty the content of the can into a bowl of luke warm water, soak for about 10 minutes and drain. In a large pot mix all the ingredients bring to boil, lower the heat, simmer gently and stir occasionally to prevent sticking for about 2-3 hours or until cooked. (this can be used as a simple Aash or as a basis to many different kinds of Aashes.) ENJOY IT
