Steak in a Black Garlic and Mushroom Sauce

- 2 sirloin steaks
- 6 tbsp grapeseed oil
- 1 lb wild mushrooms (cremini, shiitake, porcini, portobello)
- 2 large shallots, chopped
- ¼ c red wine
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme
- 3 cloves peeled black garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter or margarine
- freshly ground salt and pepper to taste
