Our Story

Sadaf Foods was founded in 1982 by two Iranian brothers who had recently immigrated to Los Angeles. Like many immigrants, they longed for the comforting aromas and flavors of home—saffron, turmeric, dried limes, rose water—but found that traditional Middle Eastern ingredients were nearly impossible to find in local supermarkets. So they decided to source and import them themselves, helping their growing community bring a taste of home into their kitchens.

What began with just 17 products and a three-person team has grown into one of the most recognized Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food brands in the U.S. Today, Sadaf offers more than 1,200 products across 35+ categories, from pantry staples to regional specialties, sourced from over 22 countries.

Still family-owned and headquartered in Los Angeles, Sadaf now employs over 100 team members and distributes nationally—from neighborhood grocers to major retailers like Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Kroger. Our products reach customers in all 50 states and continue to serve as a trusted staple in millions of homes.
