Khoresh Ghormeh Sabzi | Herb Stew

Ghormeh Sabzi 


  • 2 cups chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cups chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 cups chopped fresh leek or green onions
  • 2 cups chopped fresh fenugreek leaves (if unavailable use spinach)
  • 1/4 cup Sadaf Ghormeh Sabzi Dried Herb Mix
  • 2 tablespoons Sadaf Pomegranate Molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Sadaf Grapeseed Oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pound beef, lamb or chicken, cubed
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon Sadaf Turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a large pot, heat the Sadaf Grapeseed oil over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the meat and sauté until browned.
  3. Add the water, bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Add the chopped herbs, Sadaf Ghormeh Sabzi Dried Herb Mix, Sadaf Pomegranate Molasses, and the Sadaf Turmeric, stir well and simmer for an additional 20 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve with white basmati rice, garnished with fresh herbs.
